Our New Storefront!
We're excited to announce the opening of OUR STORE!
Just like in the old days, the farm stand on Pennsylvania Gulch rocked every Thursday
for 13 years. Folks came from all over to buy that day's harvest, stocking up for a week,
coming back the following week, all summer long. For the last few years, Farmers Markets replaced the old farm stand: and now we are making a return to the old days. Instead of going to farmers market on Thursdays, we are consolidating our operation to
one location, diversifying to offer essential pantry items, frozen foods, gardening
supplies and more.
The new store, is the old farm stand recreated but better. There were limitations to
selling outdoors - no electricity, dirt floor, no walls or roof when it rained, no way to keep
produce cool when it was hot. Our new location, on the highway, ample parking, roof
and electricity, is only minutes from our new farm. It's the home of Outer Aisle FOODS
CSA distribution and more. We recently expanded into the room next door and doubled
our space and put in a store!
The store is not a convenience store. Just like the old days, we opened the farm stand
once a week to coincide with the peak of ripening, whether it was shiney squash, crisp
cucumbers, squeaky eggplants, colorful peppers, luscious tomatoes or fragrant basil.
Our store is only open Thursdays and Saturdays during the summer months and biweekly
during the winter months. The emphasis on fresh, "sold the same day of
harvest" is important to us and by making it an event, it's likely you'll see your friends
while shopping for your weekly food.
And just like in the old days, we have the same great produce from our gardens, now
located just around the corner! In addition to our great produce, we'll have the best local
fruits and farm fresh eggs. You'll find all the wholesome healthy foods when you shop
the outer aisle...Fiscalini cheeses, Farmhourse Culture sauerkraut, frozen items: like
grass fed beef, Diestel turkey products, Alaskan salmon and chicken. Essential pantry
items: bulk beans, seeds, nuts, grains, honey, fruit spreads, nut butters and the like.
For several years now we have operated a CSA distribution network, sending out boxes
every couple of weeks to over 200 families year round. This is the backbone of our
business and has created a strong tie to our local community. Click here to learn more.
